Abydos and Dendera

Depart Luxor for a scenic drive through the Nile Valley to the ancient site of Abydos. Visit the Temple of Seti I, famous for its beautifully preserved raised reliefs and the important Abydos King List, a key record of ancient Egyptian rulers. At the rear of the temple, view the mysterious Osireion, associated with the cult of Osiris.

After the visit, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to the Temple of Hathor at Dendera, one of the best preserved temples in Egypt. Admire the vivid colours of the astronomical ceiling, see the replica of the Dendera Zodiac, explore the underground crypts and climb to the roof for wide views of the surrounding countryside.
