Plastic pollution is a global crisis and Cambodia's rural areas are particularly vulnerable due to poorly managed plastic waste. This waste not only threatens our oceans but also harms the health of local residents.
TONTOTON, a UNESCO Green Citizens Project awardee, offers a unique solution in Sihanoukville. They work with vulnerable coastal communities, providing them with a source of income through plastic waste collection. This not only prevents pollution but also improves lives.
During your visit to TONTOTON's Material Recovery Facility, learn about the challenges of plastic pollution in Cambodia. Understand the importance of responsible plastic consumption, see how plastic waste is sorted, shredded, and transformed into new products through upcycling. Be part of the solution and participate in an interactive workshop.
