Saudi Arabia has remained something of a hidden gem since opening more broadly to tourism in 2019. Vast desert landscapes, ancient sites and serene oases sit alongside vibrant cities shaped by centuries of trade, pilgrimage and exchange.
With little of the usual wear that often comes with mass tourism, the Kingdom has retained a sense of authenticity that feels increasingly rare. The opportunity now is to make travel to Saudi Arabia easier to plan and more accessible for a wider range of travellers, without diluting what makes it so compelling.
To this end, we’ve created a new small-group journey, based on our best-selling Surprising Saudi itinerary that grants access to Saudi’s most compelling landscapes and cultural moments. With strong pacing and expert handling, the programme maintains the same level of quality as the original itinerary, refined through extensive FIT and GIT demand across our core markets, while appealing to a broader client profile.
Beneath desert stars
An overnight desert camp in Wadi Disah remains a centrepiece, and one that is still rarely included, if ever, in small-group programmes in Saudi. Set among sandstone cliffs and date palms, the camp captures the scale and stillness of the landscape, while new safari-style tents and upgraded shared facilities keep comfort in place without diluting the atmosphere.
The itinerary is designed to land in the evening, when the desert feels at its most elemental. Stargazing is paired with a dedicated guide who brings both scientific insight and local perspective, transforming a simple night outdoors into one of the journey’s most memorable experiences.
Golden sandstone and shaded oasis paths
The pace softens on the Oasis Heritage Trail, where shaded paths weave through palms and citrus groves, the air carrying the scent of orange and the sound of birds overhead. It’s an easy, grounding walk that shows how this oasis once offered water and shelter in an otherwise harsh landscape.
A stop in AlJadidah adds a contemporary layer, with creative energy and restored streets bringing texture beyond the heritage sites themselves. The day naturally peaks at Elephant Rock before sunset, timed for when sandstone turns golden and silhouettes feel their most dramatic.
Where sacred journeys converge
Arriving in Medina brings a noticeable shift in tone. The pace quickens and the wide, open landscapes give way to a bustling urban energy shaped by the city’s role as one of the two most sacred places in Islam. Anchored by the Prophet’s Mosque, Medina draws pilgrims from across the world, and that global diversity is part of what makes the experience so compelling. The sense of significance is tangible in the movement of people, the shared rituals and the feeling of purpose that runs through the city.
This chapter grounds the itinerary in Saudi’s identity as a place shaped by pilgrimage and exchange. For many travellers, there is also a rare perspective in being able to experience Medina first-hand, a city that was historically closed to non-Muslims.
Practical clarity for confident selling
Saudi Secrets Shared is an eight-day, seven-night journey offered on a half-board basis, with four lunches and three dinners included. One domestic flight is built into the programme, reducing friction and simplifying planning for both agents and travellers.
Each departure operates with a minimum of four guests and a maximum of 15. This strikes an important balance. Groups remain intimate enough for meaningful interaction, flexibility and access, while allowing costs to be shared.
To ensure quality and sustainability from the outset, we are launching with two departures only — one in April and one in November. Additional dates can be added in response to demand.
