6 Best Beach Destinations in Malaysia

Check out our list of Malaysia's best beach getaways

For those in search of the perfect beach escape in Southeast Asia, Thailand, Indonesia or even Vietnam are usually the first to come to mind. But, for those in the know, this is exactly what makes Malaysia so incredible.

Sharing a gorgeous stretch of the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand, it has the same idyllic islands and dramatic landscapes as Thailand…but with fewer people.

Furthermore, between the South China, Sulu and Celebes Seas, it has a number of jaw-dropping islands that can stand proudly amongst the very best in the world.

Here is an overview of some of our favourite Malaysia beach destinations.

1 – EXPLORE LANGKAWI

Sharing a border with Thailand. The landscape has sprawling paddy fields, dramatic karst mountains, steaming jungle and paradises beaches bathed by a turquoise sea and covered with white sand. The best known is Pantai Cenang, spacious and well served, where you can swim in calm waters and admire some of the most beautiful sunsets in Malaysia. The coastline is surrounded by a palisade of palm trees.
