Isaan Food Trails (4 Days / 3 Nights)

Anyone who has ever fallen in love with Bangkok’s heady melange of smells and flavours will recognise the cuisine of northeast Thailand. From gai yang (grilled chicken) or moo yang (grilled pork) sizzling on a makeshift street-side barbecue, to shredded papaya being pounded up with chilli, lime juice and dried shrimp to prepare som tam (papaya salad), Isaan food is a ubiquitous part of the country’s culinary culture.

There’s much more to northeastern food than just a few famous dishes however. This journey takes guests into the very heartland of Isaan where they can sample everything from famous noodle dishes to Vietnamese-influenced creations. In addition to foodie treats such as Isaan sausages and grilled sticky rice cake, guests will have the opportunity to mingle with the locals – known to be among the friendliest in Thailand. The route even has a viticulture twist with a pit stop at beautiful Khao Yai National Park where the local wines are gaining in reputation every year.
