While we firmly believe that, with sustainability, actions speak louder than words, words are also necessary to codify intentions and create alignment towards a common purpose.
To this end, every year we update our Responsible Travel Policies and Codes of Conduct to inform staff and clients on how to tread lightly in four key areas of responsible travel: wildlife, child protection, ethics and climate action.
Find below our latest iteration of these Responsible Travel and Codes of Conduct documents.
WILDLIFE CODES OF CONDUCT
While the wildlife in our destinations is exotic and alluring, it is also vulnerable. In our Wildlife Codes of Conduct, we lay out how visitors and the travel industry on a whole can appreciate Asia’s biodiversity without depleting it.
CHILD PROTECTION CODES OF CONDUCT
At EXO, we are firmly committed to the protection of the most vulnerable members of communities we operate in. Specifically, we have a steadfast commitment to the protection of children from exploitation or any negative effects of tourism. Here are our guidelines:
ETHICS CODES OF CONDUCT
Our Ethical Code is designed to engage EXO in fair relationships with interested parties: customers, competitors, staff, destinations and suppliers to ensure a vested interest between all parties in sustainable, equitable development of destinations.
CLIMATE ACTION PLAN
We are committed to setting reduction targets for our emissions by 2022 to ensure we are exploring every opportunity to reduce our emissions and set ourselves on the path to Net Nero. Due to COVID-19, we believe our clients’ requirements will evolve significantly, as has been the case with our own organization, and we want to ensure that we draw achievable objectives based on this new way of working. Our objectives will be designed to support the world’s progress towards limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
