The Ticketing Officer is responsible for consulting customers and making the airline ticket reservations. S/he negotiates with airlines to achieve the bookings as well as solves the customer complaints.
Sales
Make airline ticket reservations and bookings on GDS systems.
Provide information to clients, discuss requirements and advise on suitable travel options, travel regulations, itinerary, passport and visa requirements.
Use GDS system, check queues, time limit alerts, and amendments.
Develop and build a database of leisure and corporate organizations.
Negotiate with airlines to achieve the bookings.
Make a policy & procedures of ticketing consultant guidelines and communicate with all staff for implementation of good service quality.
Communicate with sales consultants and provide encouragement, help and advice.
Deal with disciplinary matters and customer complaints.
Follow up on customer payment.
Maintain quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correct errors or problems.
Report immediately about job performance problems to the Ticketing Supervisor/Manager to identify causes and issues and to work on resolving problems.
Promote responsible options whenever available.
Contact with suppliers
Deal with different airlines regarding booking prices.
Deal with airline agencies about fare enquiries and lost ticket queries.
Maintain good working relations with airlines, clients, agents, etc.
Accounting
Check the financial statement for revenue results in the ticketing department.
Collect payments and maintain up-to-date accounting records of transactions.
Liaise with Accounting department for issuing invoices
Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism or related field
1-2 years’ experience in ticketing. Previous experience in Travel industry would be highly appreciated
Working experience as airlines agent is a plus
Good knowledge of Galileo, Amadeus, Abacus or Sabre system
