Position Overview

As the Product Manager your role at EXO Travel is to ensure the company has the best, most interesting, up-to-date travel products, ideas and experiences as well as supporting sales, data management and the TC and operation teams with regard to any queries that fall under your domain.

You are also the sales team’s conduit to EXO Travel Japan and should proactively interface with existing clients with regard to product updates, renewed pricing, while also work to bring on new clients who are product focused. This role includes the organization of FAM tours, client presentations, webinars, etc to keep existing and newer clients abreast of changes in product or new destinations within Japan.

Product Development

Produce an annual Product Strategy plan for product development in consultation with the CEO - Japan.

Act as the face of EXO in dealing with suppliers, government bodies and industry organizations
Create, develop, update and constantly improve EXO Travel’s programs, touring itineraries and unique tours in your country.

Develop and improve travel products in destination through regular site inspections.

Regularly evaluate and review current and new products.

Train the EXO team on new product; create modules for sales and marketing’s understanding of destination.

    Contracting & Suppliers relation – Database management

    Coordinate regularly with Database and Hotel Contracting Manager (Tokyo) and Product Development Team to set up plans to get needed contract rates from hotels/land suppliers nationwide.

    Coordinate regularly with Database and Hotel Contracting Manager (Tokyo) to make sure supplier rate structure fits EXO/Tourplan needs.

    Support arrangements of agent inspections at industry rates nationwide.

    Meet with suppliers to ensure proper delivery of product.

    Develop and maintain the Product database for Japan making sure Inbound and Operations have all the relevant information and support to sell product in the most smooth and time-efficient way.

    Enable Tokyo Product team to maintain PCMs, PKs and Hotel service lines nationally up to date and glitch free by providing all relevant information/updates regularly.

    Marketing and Communication
    Provide the Head Office Product and Marketing teams with new products, relevant travel and tourism news and marketing ideas to feed our print publications, e-newsletter and social media endeavors.

    Represent Exo Travel at travel trade shows, seminars, road shows and events when requested

    Be a “Knowledge Bank” for the whole office and the “go-to” person for ideas and inspiration.

    Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Marketing, or other related.

    Minimum 10 years of Experience in tourism, product management, tour guiding, sales, marketing or a similar role.

    Japanese business level language skills.

    Travel industry knowledge.

    Team player with a positive, dynamic personality.

    Passion for the places, people and culture of destination.
