Position Overview
This position is responsible for connecting with, recruiting and interviewing freelance tour guides to expand our guide database, with a focus on key regions across Japan. In addition, the role will lead the development of a guide feedback system to ensure consistent tracking and performance management. The position also involves coordinating guide reservations and building strong, long-term relationships with our guide network.

Responsibilities:
Guide Recruiting
● Use various online and offline platforms to connect with new freelance tour guides to partnership with. Expanding EXO`s guide database to increase ongoing dispatch.
● Attend guide networking events as a representative for the EXO Guide Department.
● Manage the screening process: communication, interviewing, follow up, etc.
● Input new guides into the EXO database and introduce new guides to relevant departments.
● Connect with tour guides nationwide, with certain areas designated as key targets.
● Maintain close relationships with all existing EXO suppliers in destinations and establish strong relationships with potential new suppliers.
● Work closely with the team to ensure proper training and evaluation system for new guides.
● Communicate with local guide associations, third party dispatch companies, local governments, and etc to build relationships with these partners to secure a lasting supply of guides.
● Communicate with local governments, tourism boards, DMOs, etc in business-level Japanese to offer guide training seminars and other events, and assist with setting up these events in coordination with the Guide Department.
Guide Profile Organizing
● Aggregate and organize guide feedback. Share it with relevant teams and assist with finding solutions on how to improve the follow up process, such as clarifying responsibilities details between different teams (whether certain tasks is an Operations team or training team`s responsibility and etc).
● Lead tour guide feedback system project to ensure we are able to track tour guides` feedback accurately.
Guide Booking
● Support our operations department by making reservations with tour guides to attend events to lead our customers traveling to Japan.
Qualifications
● 2-3 years’ experience client facing experience in a Japanese business setting
● Able to work with upper leaderships and create event proposal
● Business level English & Japanese with good command in writing and spoken (other foreign language is a plus)
● Capable of interacting with company leadership and external partners with professionalism
● Tour guide experience, Tourism product, sales and/or marketing or a similar role is preferred
● Comprehensive knowledge of the inbound tourism industry is preferred
● Knowledge of guide-related issues and touring logistics is preferred

● Excellent interpersonal, presentation and organization skills
● Strong team work mentality, proactively cooperate with multiple teams
● Strong computer skills (G Suite, Tour plan, Excel) with high proficiency in spreadsheets
