Connect with nature at Khao Sok National Park. Explore lush rainforest, limestone cliffs and dense jungle untouched by the modern world. Travel by boat down the Sok River for an up-close look at the park’s natural wonders, keeping an eye out for exotic wildlife on the way.
Programme Details
You will be picked up at 08.00. Take a break from the beach and head into the jungle for an exciting day trip to Khao Sok National Park. Drive north from Krabi into the park, a natural playground for lovers of the great outdoors.
On the way stop at Bang Tong Temple, one of the most spectacular temples in Southern Thailand. Admire its large elegant and majestic gazebo with colourful drawings and statues.
Continue onwards, driving through rubber plantations and small villages, typical scenes of southern Thailand. See the surroundings slowly begin to shift, with rainforests appearing in the distance and dense vegetation lining the road. Freshly prepared Thai lunch is served at a local restaurant along the way. Then arrive at Khao Sok, the largest rainforest in Southern Thailand, heading towards the valley of Sok River, which is part of Khao Sok National Park.
Climb aboard an bamboo raft for a ride down the Sok River. The river cuts right through the jungle, providing unbeatable views of the surroundings and endless opportunities for spotting exotic wildlife. Coast down the waterway, seeing exotic tropical vegetation clinging to the river banks and limestone cliffs and mountains rising on both sides of the river. A local guide will point out birds such as hornbills, kingfishers, herons and egrets as they fly by. Keep an eye out for various reptiles and even wild monkeys living in the area.
The memorable day trip to Khao Sok comes to an end with the drive back to Krabi, arriving at the hotel early this evening. (L)
