EXO Travel’s Policy on Single-Use Plastics for Groups in Indochina

EXO Travel’s Policy on Single-Use Plastics for Groups in Indochina

The guidelines below explain how we approach single-use plastics on group trips in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.

At EXO Travel, we are committed to reducing single-use plastics on all our journeys. Across every destination, we strive to minimise our plastic footprint and make travel more responsible. The way we deliver this can differ depending on local realities, especially when it comes to providing safe drinking water for groups.

How we reduce plastic for Groups
  • Refillable Bottles: We strongly encourage all travellers to bring their own refillable water bottle. This is highlighted in our packing lists and guest communications.

  • Group Solutions: For group and series tours, we provide drinking water using large jugs.

  • Sustainable Partners: We work with hotels, restaurants and other suppliers who offer safe refill stations for guests.
Supporting partners and guests
  • Trained guides: Our guides are prepared to advise guests on safe refill options and answer any questions about drinking water along the way.

  • Hygiene: All refill stations and water sources used by EXO are checked regularly to ensure cleanliness and safety.

  • Bottle provision: On request, guests can receive a refillable water bottle on arrival, including the agent’s branding if desired. If a guest forgets their bottle, guides can assist with purchasing one locally.
How You Can Help

For this policy to succeed, we need your support. Please:

  • Remind guests to bring a refillable water bottle and include this in your pre-trip messaging
  • Explain that this policy is part of a commitment to responsible travel
  • Reassure travellers that we only recommend safe, reliable water sources

If you have any concerns or special requirements for your group, let us know so we can find a suitable solution.

Why This Matters

Plastic pollution is a challenge across the region and globally. By reducing single-use plastics on our trips, we help protect the environment and support local communities. Working together, we can make travel more responsible and sustainable.
