Take a closer look at the Mekong Delta with a memorable overnight cruise. Board a charming river boat and cast off through the channels of this vibrant waterway. Cruise to riverside villages for glimpses of local life, explore cottage industries and visit the Delta’s famous floating markets.
Itinerary
📍 HCM city to Cai Be (100km): 2hrs
Today’s tour starts at 08:30. Leave the busy streets and modern buildings of Ho Chi Minh City behind to drive 2-hours southwest of the city to the verdant Mekong Delta.
Upon boarding at the dock in Cai Be midday, enjoy a refreshing welcome drink and get acquainted with the crew before checking into the cabin. This leisurely cruise aboard the charming boat is the perfect way to see the Mekong Delta.
Lunch will be served whilst taking in the verdant tropical scenery from the deck. As the boat slips into a small canal, witness the river traffic, passing markets, local homes and the occasional historic church.
Mid-afternoon, the boat will drop anchor for an on-shore visit to a local village and flourishing fruit gardens.
Afterwards, return to the boat, relax on the deck while catching the last light of the day.
A scrumptious dinner will be served as the boat cruises along the river to the anchorage point for the evening.

📍 Can Tho to HCM city (180km): 4hrs
An early breakfast will be served while the boat cruises to Can Tho City. En-route observe the life of the locals and how they make their living as the boat winds through the maze of the delta. Can Tho is the largest city in this area and the fourth largest city in Vietnam. The name of the city, which means ‘river of poems’ in Vietnamese, refers to its location in the Mekong Delta region.
On arrival, disembark and board a smaller local boat to explore the Cai Rang floating market. The waterway of boats, both tourists and traders can be seen, although some days there are few traders (due to time of year/demand). See local produce depending on the season for sale - mango, bananas, papaya, pineapple, and even floating coffee sellers and noodle soup vendors. Here boats laden with fruit and vegetables, with the vendors jostling for the best positions on the river.
After paying a visit to the colourful floating market, check-out and disembark before returning to Ho Chi Minh City.
