Paradise Eco Resort On Wa Ale Island

📍 Yangon city centre to Yangon airport (20 kilometres): 30 – 60 minutes Kawthaung airport to Hotel: 15 minutes

This morning transfer from the Yangon hotel to the airport. Then take an onwards flight to Kawthaung, the entry point to the Mergui Archipelago. The Archipelago consists of a beautiful cluster of 800 islands in the waters of the Andaman Sea, many of which remain untouched and pristine offering great opportunities for exploring the beaches and marine life. The islands are also sparsely populated by the Moken community who live a nomadic, sea-based life in the Archipelago.

Upon arrival at Kawthaung Airport, be transferred to the hotel and enjoy an afternoon at leisure.

In the afternoon, be met Upon arrival at Kawthaung Airport be met by a member of the Wa Ale team for a 15-minute transfer to Kawthaung Jetty. From here it is a three-hour ride covering 55 nautical miles by luxury speed boat to the island resort. Wa Ale Island Resort is located on the 9,000-acre island of Wa Ale within the Lampi Marine National Park. The terrain is rocky with beautiful white sand beaches upon which the luxury private accommodation (11 Tented Beach Villas and , 2 Treetop Villas and the Beach House) are found. All the accommodation has been constructed using locally reclaimed materials and designed to blend in to the lush tropical beach environment.

Environmentally Responsible Travel: The resort pledges to donate 20% of its net profits annually and 2% of room revenues to the Lampi Foundation to support conservation projects in around the Lampi Marine National Park. This includes building the park’s first sea turtle hatchery to help provide a safe environment for Green and Leatherback turtles nesting on the island of Wa Ale.

Socially Responsible Travel: Profits will also be used to support schools and a local medical clinic in the villages of Salet Galet and May Kyone Galet.

During the stay all meals are included at either the Main Pavilion Restaurant & Bar or the more casual River Café & Bar. These restaurants serve a healthy blend of Asian and Mediterranean dishes using organic ingredients from the on-site garden, local community farms and sustainably-sourced seafood from the Archipelago.

This morning it is time to say goodbye to the beautiful luxury accommodation and island friends to return to Kawthaung jetty by 3-hour speed boat transfer. Then transfer by vehicle to Kawthaung airport for a return flight to Yangon. Upon arrival at Yangon airport stay on for the international departure airport or continue on another Myanmar experience.
