Today’s itinerary includes a visit to Tokyo's Tsukiji Outer Market, the world-famous market filled with traditional shops and top-quality sushi restaurants. While the iconic inner wholesale fish market has been relocated to Toyosu, the outer market remains a lively center for visitors and locals alike to enjoy delicious food, and purchase kitchenware and other local specialties.

Before leaving Tsukiji, head to one of the local restaurants for a chance to sample some fresh sushi or sashimi. Even though the restaurants are not Jiro-branded, the dishes are definitely delicious and will not disappoint.

Before the tour ends, head to the cutlery capital of Tokyo, Kappabashi. Stop by the top-selling shop of Kamata, where it’s possible to purchase a personally engraved knife.

This morning after breakfast, transport will be provided to the Izu Peninsula (Shizuoka Prefecture). The scenic drive takes about 2.5 hours, passing along the Sagami Bay south of Tokyo.

While in Izu, head to the nearby Shuzen-ji, visit Shuzen-ji Temple and Hie Shrine, walk through the serene bamboo lane, cross the romantic red bridges across Katsuura-gawa or choose to soak in the public, open-air foot bath along the river.

Afterwards, check in to Sanyo-so, one of the most luxurious, traditional inns in the area. Tonight enjoy a dinner that features a Japanese-style, multi-course meal. There is also the option to dip in the private hot spring bath before or after dinner.

After lunch in a local restaurant, head to a temple via private car for a unique cultural experience, which will start with a short tour of the Japanese garden. Witness a tea ceremony and follow up with zazen meditation, led by the head priest of the temple.

The tour will end with a quiet stroll in the busy lanes of Higashiyama district and a sunset viewing from the 13-meter high veranda of Kiyomizu-dera Temple.

In Kyoto, spend two nights at the Hyatt Regency.
