Programme Details
Today’s tour begins at 08:30 / 14:00. Meet the art curator for an insider’s look into the traditional and contemporary art scene in Hanoi. Vietnamese art has thrived over the past two decades despite its turbulent history, maintaining a uniqueness that has put local artists on the international stage.
First, join the art curator on an interestingly interactive art discovery through downloading a special app on the smartphone. Then, visit the on-viewing contemporary art exhibition in the independent art space where young artists develop independent practices whilst encouraging their involvement in social development within the current context of Vietnam.
End the trip with a visit to Art Vietnam Gallery which was the private residence of the celebrated Art Director who came to Vietnam in 1994. She has been dedicated to discovering exceptional artists such as the ‘Gang of Five’, a group that emerged in the early 1980s when Vietnam was struggling to rebuild after decades of war.
Or pay a visit to Manzi Art Space - a gallery displaying outstanding names in the contemporary art scene, to see the on-going art showcase. As one of the most dynamic independent art spaces in Vietnam, Manzi plays an important role in supporting local artists, promoting contemporary arts, and building new audiences for the art in Vietnam.
