Hoi An Pho Cooking Class - Half Day
Today’s tour will begin at 08:00. This delicious pho cooking class starts early with a visit to Cua Dai Market. On the banks of the Thu Bon River on the outskirts of town, this market is less touristic than the ones found in central Hoi An and overflowing with herbs, vegetables and other ingredients - the perfect place for a culinary introduction.
Take a short walk to the banks of the Thu Bon River for a scenic boat ride to the cooking class. Using the knowledge gained in the market and with the assistance of a local chef, it is time to prepare the pho. Begin by making noodles, using rice powder to form wide flat noodles. While they are drying, move on to the broth. Learn about the regional variations in pho while mixing beef bones with ginger, herbs and spices. This unique combination of ingredients is what gives pho its delicious flavour.
Once the broth is boiling and the dried noodles have dried, combine the ingredients in a large vat, slowly stirring in slices of tender beef. The smells rising up from the vat are sure to get the taste buds watering. Once ready, serve up a steaming bowl, add garnishes such as lime and chilies, and tuck into this homemade treat.
Full of pho, return to Hoi An early this afternoon with plenty of time for more eating or to relax in the charming old town.
