Cruise to Can Gio Mangrove Forest - Full Day
Today’s tour will begin at 07:30. Escape from Ho Chi Minh City for a day on this Can Gio Mangrove Forest tour- one of Vietnam’s eco-tourism sites. Board a speedboat and travel across the Saigon River, leaving the city behind while enjoying Vietnamese coffee and a light breakfast.
After thirty minutes, the cityscape disappears and the boat enters the tributaries of the Mekong Delta. Make a stop at a market to see the variety of products on sale and to watch the activities of the local shoppers.
Return to the boat and enter the canals of Can Gio mangrove forest. This 40,000-hectares of forests is one of Vietnam’s most important ecosystems and has earned UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Status. Cruise through the canals, getting an up-close look at the mangroves and lush forests. Be on the lookout for the birds and exotic species that live among the mangroves.
From Can Gio, continue to Vam Sat Ecological site to discover the vast array of wildlife residing in the park. Start with a visit to the bird sanctuary and viewing tower. Then visit the crocodile reserve where there is an opportunity to feed these amazing beasts. Return to the water with a ride around a bat lagoon where hundreds of bats hang in the trees.
Refuel with lunch at a private riverside location, soaking up the tranquil scenery before returning to Ho Chi Minh City by boat and car. (L)
