Helicopter - Koh Ker - Beng Mealea - Half Day
First, take a 30-minute flight and touchdown at Koh Ker, located 110km from Siem Reap. In flight, see the stunning rural Cambodian landscape and local villages before landing at the temple. Koh Ker was once an ancient capital of Cambodia built by King Jayarvaraman IV (AD 928-942). The central temple, Prasat Thom, was built to worship Treypuvanesvara, the God of Happiness: it is 35 metres high and was designed to resemble a seven-stepped stupa, symbolic representation of Mt. Meru, home of the gods.
Next, take a 20-minute helicopter ride to the jungle temple of Beng Mealea. Enjoy a short walk through the dense jungle and discover a hidden temple. Take a stroll around and through the crumbling ruins of this once-grand temple, which has been left as the jungle subsumed it in order for visitors to appreciate the impact nature has had on these ancient structures.
Finally, return to Siem Reap on a 20-minute flight
