Helicopter - Koh Ker - Beng Mealea - Half Day
Today’s tour will begin at 08:00. First, take a 30-minute flight and touchdown at Koh Ker, located 110km from Siem Reap. On flight, see the stunning rural Cambodian landscape and local villages before landing at the temple. Koh Ker was once an ancient capital of Cambodia and built by King Jayarvaraman IV (AD 928-942). Built to worship Treypuvanesvara, the God of Happiness, it is 35 metres high and designed to resemble a seven-stepped stupa, unique of Angkorian temples.
Next, take a 20-minute helicopter ride to the jungle temple of Beng Mealea. Enjoy a short walk through the dense jungle and discover a hidden temple. Undiscovered for centuries, Beng Mealea is one of the very few temples that provide an ‘Indiana Jones’ discovery experience. And finally return to Siem Reap on a 20-minute flight.
Note: In order to make the most of this memorable experience, as an additional option you may hire an Angkor archaeologist to accompany you on the flight and temple visits. Supplement will be applied.
