As unfortunate as they are, they influence cultures,<br \/>\nThe war in Vietnam is still fresh in many people\u2019s minds. Reminders of it can be seen throughout the country, one of which is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.exotravel.com\/travel\/vietnam\/daytrips\/half-day-tour-tunnels-cu-chi\/\">Cu Chi Tunnels<\/a>. Located just an hour from Ho Chi Minh City, the immense underground network was used by the Vietcong as hiding spots, supply routes, hospitals, living quarters as well as food and weapons caches. Living conditions were atrocious, to say the least. Air, food and water are scarce, soldiers were at risk from poisonous insects and disease ran rampant. Visiting the underground network during your Vietnam tour will give you great insight into the daily lives and hardships of the soldiers who lived and worked in the dark, short and narrow tunnels.peoples, lands and technology. If you say <a href=\"https:\/\/www.exotravel.com\/travel\/japan\/tours\/hiroshima-extension\/\">Hiroshima<\/a>, then you are correct. This fact will forever be linked with the industrial Japanese city. Fortunately, she<\/p>\n<p>has recovered to become a modern, cosmopolitan metropolis with excellent cuisine and a multitude of cultural attractions. One of the main stops here is to visit<\/p>\n<p>Peace Memorial Park, a memorial filled with shrines dedicated to the survivors of the atomic blast on August 6<sup>th<\/sup> 1945. Don\u2019t just limit yourself to the city during your war travel though. We highly recommend a Japan kayaking adventure around <a href=\"https:\/\/www.exotravel.com\/travel\/japan\/daytrips\/miyajima-kayaking-adventure\/\">Miyajima<\/a>, a nearby island and home to the famous Floating Torii Gate.<\/p>\n<p>Thailand also has her share of World War II remnants. The Death Railway, the infamous bridge linking Myanmar and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.exotravel.com\/travel\/thailand\/tours\/kanchanaburi-tour\/\">Kanchanaburi<\/a> in Thailand (made famous by the book and film featuring the railway) is a top attraction approximately 240 kilometers from Bangkok. Other World War II related visits include the Hellfire Pass Museum and JEATH Museum. But the area also offers more.
