<\/a>You\u2019ve seen it before. Postcards of emerald blue\/green seas, white sands and clear blue skies. You\u2019ve read the descriptions in guidebooks and can almost feel the tropical air and soothing ocean breeze as you flip through the pages. Where to go to experience this tropical paradise? Thailand is a fabulous place for island serenity, with numerous spots dotted along the country\u2019s coast.<\/p>\n

Starting in the Gulf of Thailand, we have Koh Samed<\/a>, an island in Khao Laem Ya – Mu Ko Samet National Park. Just approximately 200 kilometers from the Thai capital, the island has developed steadily over the years and is a popular weekend getaway spot for Bangkokians, yet is able to retain a quintessential, laid back tropical island atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Heading further east near the Cambodian border is Koh Chang, Thailand\u2019s third largest island and part of Mu Ko Chang National Park. The island is known for several\u00a0waterfalls, thriving\u00a0coral reefs and\u00a0rainforests \u2013 ideal playgrounds for the adventurers. Also characterizing the island are its crystal clear oceans and soft sands \u2013 perfect for lounging the day away. Going further south near the Malaysian border in Satun Province is Koh Lipe<\/a>, a small tropical paradise that can be circumnavigated by foot.
