Summer is upon us and it\u2019d be crazy not to enjoy some time under the sun. Southeast Asia is no exception. Perhaps for one problem\u2026the rainy season. Or is it a problem at all? If you plan your travels in advance, realize a few things about the season (July \u2013 November) and come with the right frame of mind and attitude, Southeast Asia in the rainy season can actually be a great time to visit.<\/p>\n<p>One heed of warning. Southeast Asia can get very hot! This is true pretty much all year round, except perhaps during the rainy season. Yes, temperatures can rise as high as 35 or even 40 degrees on occasion, but the clouds and rains can easily drop the temperatures down, to as low as five degrees below normal or even into the 20\u2019s! That is considered cool for Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n<p>The thing about the rainy season is that when it does rain, it will pour heavily, but only for half an hour or at most, an hour. The pattern is usually this, a bright sunny and warm morning, followed by some heavy mid-afternoon clouds, then some afternoon rains and a nice breezy, cloudy and cooler late afternoon\/evening. Sometimes night rain occurs, which can also cool the next morning down. So, rain most likely will not disrupt travel plans. In fact, it might actually be a cool relief.<\/p>\n<p>The rainy season also comes with some interesting twists. The green rice fields and forests are much greener than the rest of the year. Even waterfalls are at its best. This is the perfect time to bring out those cameras for some glowing shots of the region\u2019s landscapes. This is greenery at its best.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes you need a rest. And there isn\u2019t anything like relaxing in your hotel or resort bedroom, at the lobby or in a local restaurant or bar while it\u2019s raining. It is the perfect time to reflect on your trip so far, chat with the people around you or just admire the wet scenery outside.<\/p>\n<p>Price wise, this is also the cheapest time to visit the region. This is, after all, the low season, meaning hotels and just about everything else sees a dip in price. And on top of that, there aren\u2019t swarms of tourists, meaning you\u2019ll enjoy your time in comfortable surroundings.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.exotravel.com\/travel\/multi-country\/tours\/\" target=\"_blank\">Southeast Asia<\/a>. Try it during the rainy season.
