It is a little different from the rest and surely warrants your attention. If you ever wanted to see how it was like when explorers first re-discovered these architectural marvels, then all you have to do is to see Ta Phrom for yourself. It has been left in much the same condition in which it was founded, with jungles, branches and roots growing around and in some case, on the structures. This is your chance to unleash the explorer inside of you!<\/p>\n<p>Believe it or not, this is one of the largest temples in Angkor. There are 260 statues here, each representing various gods and deities. Also included are 39 pinnacle towers and 566 residences. Ta Phrom\u2019s stele also gives us some clues as to how central the temple was to many people\u2019s lives. Almost 13,000 people called it home while over 80,000 villagers provided services to the temple and its residences.<\/p>\n<p>When you visit Ta Phrom, don\u2019t be surprised by the feeling of d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu because you may have seen it in the Hollywood film Tomb Raider. And exploration of the temple may come easy because of the structure\u2019s one story make up.<\/p>\n<p>So, what should you expect once you are indie the complex? We\u2019ll tell you this, expect lots of ruined but well preserved buildings, all surrounded and gobbled up by the surrounding jungles and trees, of course.\u00a0 Lots of them contain carvings of apsara dancers (it is theorized that performances have taken place here, at a structure appropriately named the Hall of Dancers), deities and gods and faces (either of the Buddha or of the temple\u2019s founder, Jayavarman VII).<\/p>\n<p>Ta Phrom presents a different temple touring experience in Angkor. The surrounding jungle and trees, which have laid claim to the structures add a cool dimension and a certain aura and mysticism to the place.
