There are tons of options down there, with something for everyone. Whether it is quiet beaches, romantic honeymoons, warm swimmable sea water, diving or water sports, there\u2019s an island down there for you.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to play it safe, then <a href=\"https:\/\/www.exotravel.com\/productlist\/phuket-day-trips\" target=\"_blank\">Phuket<\/a> is certainly the place. This is Thailand\u2019s biggest island and a magnet for visitors (both foreign and local) yearning for that island escape. There\u2019s all kinds of beaches here, quiet ones, commercial ones, rocky ones and smooth ones, just to list a few. Scuba excursions are also available as well as yachting and parasailing. Plus, Phuket is your base for exploring some beautiful natural sea scenery, like the limestone formations of Phang Nga Bay (where James Bond Island is).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.exotravel.com\/travel\/thailand\/tours\/koh-lipe-beach-escape-thailand-beach-break\/\" target=\"_blank\">Koh Lipe<\/a> is one of the quieter alternatives to South Thailand\u2019s islands. Situated in the Andaman Sea on Thailand&#8217;s east coast, tranquil beaches and fabulous marine life are the highlights here. Beaches are calm, clear and feature shallow water. The island is small enough that you can pretty much cover it by foot. The reefs around Koh Lipe are prime spots for divers and snorkelers to explore. Or if you enjoy lazing around and doing absolutely nothing, this island is for you.<\/p>\n<p>Koh Lanta, off the Andaman Coast is another quiet island option. If you like walking along the beach and admiring the sunset, then this is certainly your spot. Divers are certainly welcome here, but may need a boat escort to Hin Daeng and Hin Muang. Both rated in the in the world\u2019s top ten sites. Now, you know. Koh Lanta is also a highly suggested <a href=\"https:\/\/www.exotravel.com\/luxury\/thailand\/tours\/perfect-thai-honeymoon\/\" target=\"_blank\">honeymoon<\/a> island spot. Families, friends and group travelers are also welcome.<\/p>\n<p>So, you\u2019re looking to hit the Similan Islands? We suggest to first head over to Khao Lak. Just 100 kilometers from the town of Phuket, it is a destination in itself. Imagine long stretches of pure smooth sand and blue clear waters. That is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.exotravel.com\/travel\/thailand\/tours\/beach-break-at-khao-lak-4-days-3-nights\/\" target=\"_blank\">Khao Lak<\/a>. And the Similans? They are just a short boat transfer away.
