Your first stop from the airport is Candidasa in Eastern Bali. This lovely seaside town is peaceful and charming and is characterized by black sand beaches (a result of volcanic ash remnants from years past). Stop en-route at the fishing village of Kusamba and observe the colorful outrigger boats and salt-making huts that line the beach. Spend the rest of the day relaxing.<\/p>\n

From the beach, head up to Mount Agung to see Bali\u2019s most revered temple, Besakih. Built around the 14th century, the temple was only meters away from lava flow when Mount Agung erupted in 1963. Stop by Sinetan Village for a sample of the sweet snakeskin fruit and enjoy a leisurely two hour trek to Tenganan to meet the Bali Aga, the original inhabitants of the island.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s head over to a beautiful site called Tirta Gangga. What\u2019s there? This is an elaborate and revered water palace, characterized by a network of pools and fountains surrounded by a serene garden, stone carvings and statues. Next up, the traditional fishing town of Prahu. Embrace the sleepy atmosphere on land or jump in the water and explore the marine life with a dive at the USS Liberty shipwreck in the offshore waters of Tulamben.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s head straight to the lovely northeastern coast of Lovina. If you want to bask in the environment, feel free to do so. For the more active, enjoy a light trek around the area.\u00a0 Then head to Lake Bratan, to see the Ulun Danu Temple floating on its west shore. Continue driving through the central highlands with views of the Buyan and Tamblingan crater lakes before reaching Munduk.<\/p>\n

Breathe in the local scenery with a light trek through the lush scenery and plantations before reaching Red Coral Waterfall. The day includes visits to a couple of Balinese villages before settling at Umabian where you can join in with the locals in their daily activities around the compound.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll get a chance to engage in community projects as we take you to Tunjunk Village where you will get the opportunity to learn rice-planting techniques and engage with the school children at the local school. To complete the rural lifestyle experience, join the optional two-hour trek around the surrounding area to discover local irrigation systems and worshiping beliefs. We\u2019ll then take you to Ubud<\/a>, Bali\u2019s art capital where you\u2019ll appreciate historical and contemporary art at the town\u2019s museums and markets.<\/p>\n

Mount Batur is calling for you! We\u2019ll head there on your last day so you can be in the company of glimmering rice fields, quaint villages and sacred temples.\u00a0 A fitting end to your Bali experience. Saying good-bye is hard sometimes.<\/p>\n
