Its purpose remains relatively unknown and even its construction date is shrouded in mystery. The path also ascends through three levels of Buddhist cosmology, namely Kamadhatu (the world of desire), Rupadhatu (the world of forms) and Arupadhatu (the world of formless meditation), with a system of stairways and corridors containing more than 1,400 relief panels. You will certainly leave the certainly an enlightened person in terms of Buddhist knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>But wait, there is more! Not too far away is the Hindu temple of Prambanan. This is one of Southeast Asia\u2019s largest Hindu complex and another amazing historical site. If you have seen Hindu temples before, then you will certainly recognize its tall and pointed architecture, a common trait in Hindu structures. Built in the 9th century, this collection of sharp, jagged temples features three main inner shrines dedicated to the Hindu trinity: Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
