However, the otherworldly allure of its Buddhist relics is balanced by the more earthly craft of lacquerware for which Bagan is also famed. The country\u2019s great forests have fed a near limitless supply of sap, which is then, in turn, used in the art of pan yun (Burmese lacquerware), known globally for its delicate intricacy. During this day-long itinerary, guests will have the opportunity to get fully acquainted with this fascinating process. The crash course takes place in Bagan\u2019s oldest lacquerware shop where master craftsmen have been honing their expertise for centuries.
