After landing in Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, be greeted by the local guide and transfer to Jimbaran. 

Relax at the pool until meeting with the guide again for a briefing of details on the adventure ahead.

Dinner may be served at the local restaurant.

Start the day by visiting one of the many stunning beaches in the southernmost part of Bali and enjoy the white sand and great waves. Another option is rock climbing in the Uluwatu area (booking in advance is usually required, so please inform the guide on arrival in Bali).

Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant near the beach. Then return to the hotel to freshen up.

In the late afternoon, proceed to Uluwatu Temple. One of Bali’s most impressive temples, Uluwatu Temple is majestically perched on the edge of a steep cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean. At sunset, witness the dramatic and traditional kecak dance performance at the temple which is not accompanied by music but the steady chant of the male performers.

Return to Jimbaran for a BBQ seafood dinner under the stars on one of Bali's more expansive beaches. The seafood warung (small restaurant) serves an enticing platter including prawns, grilled fish, squid and clams/shellfish accompanied by rice, vegetable (Indonesian spinach) and sambal (spicy Indonesian sauce).

NOTE: Macaque monkeys can be a considerable annoyance at Uluwatu. Please heed the advice of the guide on the precautions that should be taken when visiting temples or forests inhabited by monkeys.

Optional Activity: Uluwatu Rock Climbing
In the southernmost part of the Uluwatu area, walk along the beach until reaching a cliff about 10 metres high.

Receive a rock climbing briefing and be fitted with the necessary equipment before starting to climb. The trained guides will assist with the climb, advising on technique and helping to make the challenging task more enjoyable.

The climbing route is variable, starting with a horizontal climb and continuing with a vertical climb.

After breakfast, start the day by cycling through lush forests, passing by the village of Angseri on the way to the UNESCO-recognised rice terraces of Jatiluwih -widely considered to be Bali’s most beautiful man-made landscape. Take some time to explore the verdant surroundings of this photogenic area and take a few photos.

After lunch in a local restaurant, continue cycling on a small road up to Batukaru Temple on the slopes of Batukaru Volcano (2,276 m).
Luhur Batukaru Temple is one of the biggest Hindu Temples in Bali - set on a plateau surrounded by lush tropical rainforest.

After visiting the temple, continue the ride to the day’s resting point. After checking into the hotel, the rest of the evening is at leisure.

After breakfast at the hotel, depart by vehicle to the Bedugul area. Upon arrival, start a scenic ride and challenging ascent up to Lake Bratan. Along the way, pass the strawberry plantations of Bedugul and take a short stop at Bedugul Market before continuing downhill to the lake. Here, take a break from cycling to visit Ulun Danu Temple. The temple is set in the middle of the lake’s calm waters on a small island, giving the impression that it’s floating.  

Next, ride to a stunning viewpoint overlooking the Twin Lakes of Tamblingan and Buyan. After taking a few photos from this scenic spot, embark on a two-hour trek deep through the jungles around Tamblingan to discover incredibly lush vegetation and some unique hidden temples. Conclude the trek at Dalem Temple -the starting point of a paddling adventure on canoes across the misty Tamblingan Lake.  

After reaching the other side, continue riding to a stop for lunch at a local restaurant. After filling up, ride to the day’s resting point in the Munduk area. After checking into the hotel, the rest of the afternoon is spent at leisure.

Depart early in the morning for a transfer to Gitgit, the site of an exhilarating descent of Kerenkali, an extension of Kalimudan Canyon. There are two stages to the day’s activities ranging from a series of jumps, slides and short rappels across gorges made of volcanic rock and an underground water basin -a mix of fun and exploration for enthusiastic thrill seekers.

The second stage requires even more energy while rappelling alongside a 26m waterfall and taking jumps of up to 10m into the pools below (optional).

A picnic lunch is included.

*All participants are required to be in good shape and must be able to swim up to 20m. This is a group activity, so other people will be along during the adventure as well.

After a change of clothes and freshening up, enjoy an afternoon ride along the northern coast of Bali. Pass Singaraja Town and stop at the famous Beji Temple. From there, continue along small mountain roads, passing remote villages until arriving at Kintamani Village on the slope of the Batur Volcano.

Be picked up from the hotel very early in the morning, around 04:00, and be transferred to the starting point of a trek at the base of Mount Batur.

Upon arrival, be welcomed by the guides and, after some introductions have been made and preparations checked (a flashlight/torch is included), receive a complete safety briefing for the trek. The first section is through the jungle before ascending up a rocky volcanic path. The pathway is mostly uphill, but there are several opportunities to stop and rest. After approximately two hours (2 km) of climbing, approach the top of the main crater. Here, be greeted by a completely different landscape with a wind-swept pathway and very few rocks and vegetation.

Around 06:00, while sitting at the top of the volcano (1,717 metres), witness a life-altering sunrise over Mount Abang and Mount Agung. On clear days it’s possible to view Lombok’s Mount Rinjani across the Lombok Strait.
A simple breakfast with hot coffee or tea will be provided while enjoying the view.

Soak up the incredible scenery before starting the trek back down along a small steep path to the west slope of Batur. Stop en route for a visit to a second crater created during the 2001 eruption. From there, continue down to reach yet another crater, created in 1999, and witness its dramatic smoking cone and lava field. The last section of the trek will be across black lava seas of sand until reaching the ending point of the trek. 
 
Afterwards, there is time to bathe in a local hot spring nearby Batur Lake (bring swim gear and a change of clothes) before returning to the hotel in Kintamani. Pack and take some time to relax for a bit before checking out.

Enjoy a late lunch at the hotel before heading through the countryside to the quiet village of Sidemen, near Agung Volcano. Check into the hotel here and spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

In the morning after breakfast, be picked up early in the morning and transfer to the starting point of the day’s white-water rafting adventure on the wild Telaga Waja River.  

Upon arrival, be greeted by the rafting guides and receive a helmet, lifejacket and paddle. The guides will provide a safety briefing and also explain and demonstrate paddling techniques. A dry bag will be provided to protect valuables and keep clothes dry.

Then it’s time to start paddling! (Four passengers and one guide per raft) The adventure covers 14 kilometres of the Telaga Waja River, taking approximately two hours. The trip is divided into two parts, with a rest stop on the riverbanks at the halfway point.

The scenery is truly breathtaking along the river, ranging from gorges and waterfalls to lush farms. Local villagers can be seen farming s or taking breaks in the shade.

After an exhilarating rafting experience, be treated to a buffet of Indonesian specialties at a restaurant with stunning views of the river and surrounding hills. There are showers and toilet facilities on site for those who want to freshen up.

Note: We recommend wearing shorts and swimming gear, hat and sunscreen. Bring a change of clothes for after the rafting adventure. Unless continuing another program after the rafting – it is recommended to leave valuables in the hotel safe. Showers and change rooms available, plastic bags for wet clothes are supplied.

After lunch return, transfer to the hotel and enjoy an afternoon at leisure.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel and laze the morning away or take a short walk around the village and rice fields. Lunch will be served at the hotel.

After lunch, meet with the guide for the start of another amazing adventure: trekking Agung Volcano. Start with a visit to Besakih. Also known as the ‘Mother Temple’ of Bali, located on the western slopes of Mt Agung, it’s Bali’s most holy and spiritually important temple -the perfect place to witness the magic of Balinese culture.  

From there, start trekking up the most sacred volcano in Bali. Often referred to as Mother Mountain. Mt Agung is 3,142m above sea level. Trek along an incredibly scenic path for about four hours before arriving at camp for the night. While enjoying a spectacular sunset at the roof of Bali, the guiding team prepares a well-deserved camp dinner.

After an early-morning wake up surrounded by nature, head on a two-hour trek to the summit of Mt Agung just in time to witness a glorious sunrise. Enjoy a 360-degree view of Bali, the surrounding Mt Batur and Mt Abang, and the nearby islands. When the weather is clear, Bali’s coast can be seen from all sides, including views of the colossal Mt Rinjani on the island of Lombok.

After soaking up the visceral beauty of the surroundings, start the descent back down the volcano -a journey of about six hours. Note that Agung Volcano is the most challenging and difficult volcanic climb in Bali, but well worth the effort involved.

After reaching the base of the volcano, transfer to a local restaurant for a well-deserved lunch break.

After lunch, transfer to the nearby seaside village of Amed to spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Ahmed is widely considered to be one of the best places for snorkelling in Bali, and there will undoubtedly be times when the diversity of life along the area’s coral reefs is truly breathtaking.

Enjoy the afternoon relaxing on the stunning beaches in Amed and take some well-needed time to rest adventure-ridden muscles.
